Sherry Ziman (she/her) is a writer based in Seattle, WA. She is drawn to prose and poetry with an emphasis on nature, place, the gothic, and historic.

She holds a certificate in Creative Writing from UCLA Extension and continues to take classes at Hugo House. She is currently working on essays and short stories.

A favorite personal narrative essay of hers is Annie Dillard’s “The Chase” because of these lines, “But how could the glory have lasted forever? We could have run through every backyard in North America until we got to Panama. But when he trapped us at the lip of the Panama Canal, what precisely could he have done to prolong the drama of the chase and cap its glory?”
